2017 Family Camp

Registration

Registration and payment is due by May 10th.

Registration for Family Camp is now open.  Use this link to sign up and pay:

Family Camp Registration

You will notice 5 different options.  You can select each one as needed and click on the add to basket to create your total registration.  Please be accurate selecting days if you won’t be there both nights as that is how we have to report it to Camp Canaan.

This year, I am requesting that all payments be made through the web site.  There is a place to put a note in.  Please detail the names of people coming so we can have an accurate list and count to provide to the camp.

Instructions for How to Sign Up

Depending on who all is coming from your family, you will want to select the appropriate item(s) to add to your basket.

First Four (Including Scouts)

Up to the first four members of a family, including scouts, get a discounted rate of $20.00 per night or $40.00 for the entire weekend.

Additional Campers

You are free to invite others to camp, grand parents, uncles, in-laws, etc. but each of these have to be paid for per night at a cost of $10 per person per night.

Location

The address for Camp Canaan is:

3111 Sand Island Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732

This is located off of India Hook Road.  If you went to Gold Rush, it is at the very end of the same road where Westminster Park is.

Here is the website for Camp Canaan.

Additionally, here is a link to a map of Camp Canaan.  For reference, the main area where we will camp is near the 6 on the map.  That is the Yurt and the basis of the Pack operations for the weekend.

Camp Canaan Forms

In order to camp, or to participate in the Archery Tag even if you aren’t camping, you need to complete the forms below for scouts and adults.  These need to be completed and signed online. If you don’t send them in early, you MUST have them at your arrival at camp or you will not be able to check in.

Schedule

Here is the proposed schedule for Family Camp.  Please note that locations and times are tentative and subject to change based on weather and other circumstances.  On one of the two nights, I hope to have a larger camp fire that we can enjoy as a Pack.  This is still dependent on availability of the large fire pit provided by Camp Canaan so it is not an official activity at this point.

Awards

All Den Leaders must have all advancements and awards entered into Scout Track by May 9th.  If they are not, your scouts will not receive them at Family Camp.

A note for parents: the Pack provides the scarves for the next year (e.g. Tigers will receive a Wolf Scarf along with their Tiger badge), so you will not need to purchase that.  However, and neckerchief slides should you want a new one will not be covered by the Pack.

Fires

You are allowed to have a fire provided that you have an above ground fire pit.  Last year there were a couple of places where the camp had pre-made fire rings in ground. I’m not sure if these will still be there but I wouldn’t plan on it.  Also last year they had some wood available to split but again I’m not aware of whether that will be the case this year so please plan accordingly.
